O ρόλος της μνήμης πηγής και της εργαζόμενης μνήμης στην ακρίβεια της αυτοπτικής μαρτυρίας των ηλικιωμένων

Περίληψη
Στόχος της έρευνας ήταν να εξετάσει τη σχέση της εργαζόμενης μνήμης και της μνήμης πηγής με την ακρίβεια της κατάθεσης ηλικιωμένων αυτoπτών μαρτύρων. Περαιτέρω ελέγχθηκε εάν η ηλικία και άλλοι ατομικοί - δημογραφικοί παράγοντες επιδρούν στην αξιοπιστία των μαρτυρικών καταθέσεων. Στη μελέτη συμμετείχαν πενήντα άτομα, μοιρασμένα σε 2 ομάδες ηλικίας (25 ηλικιωμένοι και 25 νεότεροι ενήλικες). Οι συμμετέχοντες εξετάστηκαν σε ένα έργο μνήμης πηγής, σε ένα έργο εργαζόμενης μνήμης και σε ένα έργο προσομοίωσης αυτοπτικής μαρτυρίας. Η ακρίβεια των καταθέσεων βρέθηκε να συνδέεται άμεσα και θετικά μόνο με την εργαζόμενη μνήμη και, μέσω αυτής, με την ομάδα ηλικίας, τη σωματική άσκηση και το μορφωτικό επίπεδο. Οι ηλικιωμένοι ανέφεραν υψηλότερο αίσθημα βεβαιότητας για την ακρίβεια της αυτοπτικής τους μαρτυρίας, σε σύγκριση με τους ενήλικες.
